Stepping into the spotlight as Illuminate 2017’s co-MCs are Jan Enns and Matt Wood. Both members of our host local society, Northern Lights, their unique blend of personality, experience and knowledge of Kelowna and the CPRS make them the perfect pair to lead delegates through our three day program!
Highly regarded for her practical tips and engaging delivery, Jan Enns brings over 25 years of experience, insights and enthusiasm to her sessions. With a passion for communications, Jan specializes in providing tailor-made training to help her clients better inform and engage their communities, having held key positions at the Regional District of Central Okanagan, Interior Health and the Insurance Corporation of BC. She’s a co-founder of the BC Local Government Management Association’s E-learning webinars, has taught citizen engagement at the University of Alberta and holds a Masters in Communications. She’s a proud member of the Northern Lights Chapter of CPRS and delighted to be part of the team to host the conference here in Kelowna, her home town.
Matt Wood is the Director of Communications and Marketing for the University of Northern British Columbia. Prior to that, he spent eight years working as the Communications Manager for the City of Quesnel. He’s an advocate for team building, collaboration, and breaking through traditional barriers, both organizational and philosophical that can stifle a proactive public relations campaign. In 2009, he was the recipient of the CPRS Don Rennie Award in recognition of outstanding achievement in government communications. He has been a member of CPRS for 10 years, and has served on the Northern Lights Executive for most of them, including four years as President. He is married to Christi, and is the proud father of two daughters.
