Society is entering the second wave of job automation process- automation 2.0. This is the next wave for public relations work. Most of our operational tasks can and will be automated.
Software and algorithms can write complete and coherent content with minimal human intervention. Google can lip read hours of television news and summarize it. Analysis of complex and lengthy documents that formerly took 40 hours is now taking 4 minutes or less. Already media clippings and analysis can be done by AI, setting up and sending ‘stuff’ can be automated, we can create videos, audio and content with AI. So what does it all mean for public relations? Let’s explore it together and have a bit of fun looking into the not-too-distant future. Prepare to be assimilated. Resistance is futile.
